It is said that before entering the sea
a river trembles with fear.

She looks back at the path she has traveled,
from the peaks of the mountains,
the long winding road crossing forests and villages.

And in front of her,
she sees an ocean so vast,
that to enter
there seems nothing more than to disappear forever.

But there is no other way.
The river can not go back.

Nobody can go back.
To go back is impossible in existence.

The river needs to take the risk
of entering the ocean
because only then will fear disappear,
because that's where the river will know
it's not about disappearing into the ocean,
but of becoming the ocean.

Having a true and unconditional love is like having a kite in our hands. We don't hold it tight, we help it to fly, but never let it go. Between the kite and us, there is only a very thin string, so we always keep an eye on it and make sure that the string doesn't get cut. Let the kite knows it can count on us, we will never let it fall and we are there when the strong winds come.

Actually, REINCARNATION and RESURRECTION are both positive. They give us hope, our death is not an end.

No bodily form is permanent: everyone dies and reincarnates further. Liberation from reincarnation is possible, however, through removing and ending karmic accumulations to one's soul. Buddhist texts assert that an enlightened person knows his previous births, a knowledge achieved through high levels of meditative concentration.

Is there a soul? Does anything endure the ravages of time? How do we know if souls really exist?

Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism disagree in their assumptions and theories about rebirth. Hinduism relies on its foundational assumption that "soul, Self exists", in contrast to Buddhist assumption that there is "no soul, no Self". Hindu traditions consider soul to be the unchanging eternal essence of a living being, and what journeys across reincarnations until it attains self-knowledge. Buddhism, in contrast, asserts a rebirth theory without a Self, and considers realization of non-Self or Emptiness as Nirvana. Thus Buddhism and Hinduism have a very different view on whether a self or soul exists, which impacts the details of their respective rebirth theories.

With high respect to Buddhism, I must say I don't agree with "no soul, no Self". Without soul, there shouldn't be karma and reincarnation, we are nothing.

Reincarnation is a spiritual transformation, the soul will keep transforming until it becomes a pure soul. Soul purification is the purpose of reincarnation.

The pure soul is our real identity. However, it is covered with layers and layers of karma (the impurities), which is why we cannot realize the existence of our soul and we remain ignorant of who we really are.

About a month before his own death, Einstein wrote the following in a letter to the family of his good friend Michele Besso who had just died:

"Now he has departed from this strange world a little ahead of me. That means nothing. People like us, who believe in physics, know that the distinction between past, present and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion."

Why did he write that? What is the meaning of this statement??? Do I have to be a genius in physics to know the meaning?? But when I think about it, hey, maybe I can understand it without having to be a physicist.

Imagine there are 4 persons: A, B, C, and D.
  • A lives before B, C, and D.
  • B lives after A, before C and D.
  • C lives after A and B, before D.
  • D lives after A, B, and C, etc.
In A's perspective: He/she lives now. B, C, and D live in the future.
In B's perspective: He/she lives now. A lives in the past. C and D live in the future.
In C's perspective: He/she lives now. A and B live in the past. D lives in the future.
In D's perspective: He/she lives now. A, B, and C live in the past.

For A, B, C, D, the past, present and future depend on who the person is.
Is there a past, present, and future in The Almighty? The Almighty is past, present and future.

Since ancient times, humans have tried to fathom the mystery of life. Is our allotment to existence so brief and purposeless in that we come from nothingness, exist for a short time, then again return to nothingness? Are we getting any closer to solving the riddle?

Awakening of the Heart: Essential Buddhist Sutras and Commentaries

Human, animal, and nature

When we look into a human being, we see human and animal ancestors. If we look deeply, we can also see plant and mineral ancestors. The human is made of non-human elements. We see that we are at the same time a rock, a river, a cloud, a squirrel, and a rose. If we take away all the non-human elements, there’s no human being left.

You have to see yourself as nature, as being one with nature.

Time, life, and death

We believe that time is linear, that we are born at a certain point in time and that we shall die at another point in time. We believe we’ll only spend seventy, eighty, ninety, or one hundred years on this planet. After that, we’ll be gone. This is what we believe. But as we look deeply, we see that this is a notion, a wrong perception. Birth is a notion, and death is also a notion. It’s not reality.

If we look deeply we see that the nature of the cloud is also the nature of no birth. The cloud does not come from nothing. It has come from the water in the river and the ocean. It has come from the heat of the sunshine. You know that the birth of a cloud is a poetic image. The cloud is simply a new manifestation. Before being a cloud, the cloud has been many other things.

Reincarnation and Resurrection

Where does the soul go? Does it reincarnate or resurrect? What will happen after the end of the universe?

The Christians believed in reincarnation until the fourth century. A shocking claim suggests the Bible once contained evidence of the concept of reincarnation but was purged of such “blasphemy” thousands of years ago by the Catholic church. According to Catholic teaching, belief in anything other than the resurrection of the body is completely incompatible with a Christian theology and anthropology of the human person.

Somehow, I can understand why the Church Fathers removed the concept of reincarnation. From my opinion, reincarnation might be true, but only for those who don’t believe in salvation. Why we are here now is because in the previous life before this reincarnation, we don’t belong to Christ. They who belong to Christ will not reincarnate after they die, while they who don’t belong to Christ will reincarnate after they die.

In my case, GUI was displayed before I logged in. But after logging in, I was stuck in black screen (GUI didn't load).

Actually this issue is very easy to fix. But for those who don't know, follow these steps below (Don't worry, you don't have to reinstall Linux):

1. Press Ctrl + Alt + F7 (In my laptop F7, but it can be F1 - F7) to open CLI mode.
2. Press Ctrl + Alt + F6 to display login prompt.
3. Enter 'root' user & password.
4. Type 'yum update'.
5. After update completed, type 'reboot'
6. Now you should see GUI after logging in.

To open NTFS drive on Linux, we need to install the ntfs-3g package.
NTFS-3G is a stable Open Source NTFS driver that supports reading and writing to NTFS drives on Linux and other operating systems.
This package comes from EPEL if you’re using CentOS/RHEL.

Run the following command to install EPEL repository and ntfs-3g package:

[[email protected] ~]$ su

[[email protected] user]# yum install epel-release

[[email protected] user]# yum install ntfs-3g

The next step is identify the partition and create a mount point:

[[email protected] user]# blkid

It will show you all the current connected hard drive/partitions on the computer.
/dev/sda1: LABEL="System Reserved" UUID="104AFBC24AFBA2A0" TYPE="ntfs"
/dev/sda2: UUID="6E0802260801EE41" TYPE="ntfs"
/dev/sda3: UUID="3dd36e9c-e367-44b2-8ffc-b4ce5ffed287" TYPE="ext4"
/dev/sda4: UUID="1cf0210c-22c3-4e77-99c7-fccf74d3105e" TYPE="swap"
/dev/sdb1: LABEL="Data" UUID="7FC482015907F743" TYPE="ntfs"
/dev/sdc1: LABEL="MULTIBOOT" UUID="1613-316C" TYPE="vfat"

[[email protected] user]# mkdir /mnt/ntfs

Then mount the partition and open it with GUI:

[[email protected] user]# mount /dev/sdb1 -t ntfs-3g -o permissions /mnt/ntfs

[[email protected] user]# nautilus /mnt/ntfs

Note: This method is not permanent. After system restart, we have to run mount and nautilus command again.

A dependency occurs when one package depends on another. The RPM database tracks dependency information, so it can, for example, stop attempts to remove packages that other packages depend on or inform users of dependent packages upon installation.

There are four types of dependencies that the RPM system tracks:

  • Requires, which tracks the capabilities a package requires
  • Provides, which tracks the capabilities a package provides for other packages
  • Conflicts, which describes the capabilities that if installed, conflict with capabilities in a package
  • Obsoletes, which describes the capabilities that this package will make obsolete
If there are any missing dependencies, you can install them from the standard repositories using yum install / update.

Open Terminal

[[email protected] ~]$ su

[[email protected] user]# yum install epel-release

[[email protected] user]# yum install epel-release-latest-7.noarch.rpm (depends on your CentOS / RHEL version)

Feb 6, 2020

Open Terminal

[[email protected] ~]$ su

[[email protected] user]# yum list installed => to view the filename of the program that we want to uninstall

[[email protected] user]# rpm -e filename.rpm => to uninstall a program

[[email protected] user]# rpm -i filename.rpm => to install a program (before we execute this command, copy rpm file to Home)

It is believed by many to be a universal law by which “Like always attracts like.” The results of positive thoughts are always positive consequences. The same holds true for negative thoughts, always leading to bad outcomes.

Reality check:
1. Two magnets will be attracted by their opposite poles.
2. Most electric charge is carried by the electrons and protons within an atom. Electrons are said to carry negative charge, while protons are said to carry positive charge.
3. In Taoism, a Chinese philosophy, there are two fundamental principles: one negative, passive, earthy, dark, cold, wet, and feminine (yin) and the other positive, bright, heavenly, active, dry, hot and masculine (yang). Yin and yang complement each other perfectly and are the balance of intellect and emotions.

Life is not perfect. It can be great, fantastic, amazing, incredible, even optimal. But perfect? Won’t happen. What’s the problem with this way of thinking? Why not expect perfection? Fantasizing and striving for perfect makes you feel better in the short term but actually reduces your chance of attaining your goals and results in more unhappiness and blaming. If you are only going to be satisfied with perfect results – perfect health, perfect body, perfect family, perfect marriage, perfect friendships, perfect kids, perfect house, perfect job, perfect life; you are in for a perfect disappointment.

The Positive Power of Negative Thinking:
1. Negative thinking could save a life.
2. Negative thinking helps you envision the worst thing that can happen—and often prevent it.
3. Negative thinking helps you set boundaries.
4. Negative thinking saves you money and time.
5. Negative thinking helps you avoid scammers and other criminals.
6. Negative thinking slows down your decision-making, allowing you to make more thoughtful choices.
7. Negative thinking helps you look at yourself and others more realistically.
8. Negative thinking can give you a healthy skepticism towards authority figures.
9. Negative thinking helps you notice injustice and motivates you to make changes.

Consider using the power of negative thinking. It can help you protect your life and health by saving you time, trouble, and money, and by sorting out the good people from those who might take advantage of your caring nature. While positive emotions such as gratitude, happiness, and love make life worth living, a dash of negativity can be a helpful spice in the recipe for a good life. So accentuate the positive, but don’t eliminate the negative.
