[SOLVED] CENTOS 7.X / RHEL 7.X WIFI NOT CONNECTED

In my case, WiFi was detected but the signal was too weak. When I tried to connect, error message 'Could not activate connection: Activation failed' appeared.

Finally, I figured out the root cause - it was Realtek RTL8723BE driver.

These steps below solved the issue in both CentOS 7.x and RHEL 7.x:

1. Download Realtek RTL8723BE PCI-E Wireless driver here
2. Extract the file
3. Right click on folder 'rtlwifi_new-rock.new_btcoex'
4. Click 'Open in Terminal'
5. Type these commands:
  • make
  • sudo make install
  • echo "options rtl8723be ant_sel=1" | sudo tee -a /etc/modprobe.d/rtl8723be.conf or echo "options rtl8723be ant_sel=2" | sudo tee -a /etc/modprobe.d/rtl8723be.conf
6. Restart

Notes: The ant_sel parameter enables one of the two antenna connectors of your RTL8723be adapter. Your laptop has only one antenna because the vendor is too greedy to install two. The Linux drivers can't detect which antenna connector is in use. So we have to guess it.
In Windows either the vendor sets it up somewhere on a pre-installed system, or the Windows proprietary drivers can detect it.
If ant_sel=1 does not help, use ant_sel=2This setting tells which antenna is in use 1 or 2.

THE SMART WORKER

Once upon a time, a very strong woodcutter asked for a job with a timber merchant, and he got it. The pay was really good and so were the work conditions. For that reason, the woodcutter was determined to do his best. His boss gave him an axe and showed him the area where he was supposed to work. The first day, the woodcutter brought 21 trees.
“Congratulations,” the boss said. “Go on that way!”
Very motivated by the boss’ words, the woodcutter tried harder the next day but he only could bring 17 trees. The third day he tried even harder, but he only could bring 10 trees. Day after day, he was bringing less and less trees.
“I must be losing my strength”, the woodcutter thought. He went to the boss and apologized, saying that he could not understand what was going on.
“When was the last time you sharpened your axe?” the boss asked. “Sharpen? I had no time to sharpen my axe. I have been very busy trying to cut trees.”
Moral of the Story: Sometimes working hard alone is not enough to achieve success. You have to work smartly too! The woodcutter in the story is the best person for the job but he doesn’t have the right attitude to be successful in this particular task. With the right attitude, nothing is impossible in life.

15 PSYCHOLOGICAL TRICKS EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW

Please use these mental life hacks mindfully. They are really powerful and should only be used with good intentions.

1. Silence is golden
If someone avoid answering our question properly, maintain eye contact and keep silent, wait. We’ll eventually get what we want, as people will keep on explaining if they think their answer is not enough.

2. Stop feeling anxious or nervous
The best way to let go of anxiety and nervousness is to chew gum. Chewing gum makes our brain think we’re eating and there’s no danger. This is how we get our brain to think we’re relaxed.

3. Who likes who?
When we’re in a group and everyone is laughing, take a look at who’s looking at who. When we laugh, instinctively we look at the people we feel (or want to feel) closest to.

4. They know we believe in what we’re saying
Stop saying “I believe…” and “I think…”. These phrases indicate lack of confidence.

5. Keep calm
When someone is trying to argue with us, keep calm. They may get angrier, but we’re training them to lose their tantrums by not reacting.

6. The way we act is the way we feel
Our emotions come with physical effects, and these physical expressions are triggered by the emotions we’re feeling. The good thing is this can be turned around. If we want to start feeling happy, start smiling a lot.

7. Brilliance is confidence
It’s difficult to tell the difference between brilliance and confidence. When we act as if know what we’re doing, people will think we’re good at it. So act confident and watch as people rally around us.

8. Even our interviewer is human
If we’re in a situation where we’re being interviewed, imagine that we are old friends with the interviewer.

9. Be the one we want to see in others
If someone is showing behaviors we don’t like, it’s an opportunity to start behaving the way we want them to.

10. Lesser our chances to be attacked
If we are in a meeting and we expect that we’re going to be attacked by someone, sit right next to them. People feel less comfortable to attack someone they’re next to.

11. Let them see how they look like
If we work in customer service, put a big mirror behind. People will automatically act nicer if they can see how they’re acting.

12. First ask for more, then ask for less
People are more likely to agree to a smaller favor if they’ve been asked for something larger first. So start with something larger to then agree on what we really want.

13. Why feel stressed, when we can feel exhilarated
Stress and exhilaration have the same physical symptoms (heavy breathing, increased heart rate). We could decide to look at a stressful situation as an exhilarating one.

14. Associate ourself with fun and excitement
When on a first date, go to somewhere fun and exciting. The person will associate the feeling they get from the environment.

15. Eye contact is everything
Next time we’re with someone, try noticing their eye color. Not just “brown”, “blue” but all of the different colors in their eyes. The increased eye contact will have the person liking us even more.

  • May cause intestinal gas and abdominal bloating
  • May cause heartburn
  • May interfere with certain medications
  • Too much potassium is bad for our health
  • Can be irritative to skin of some individuals
  • May cause bad breath and strong after smell
  • May worsen cardiovascular problems
  • May lowers blood sugar to dangerously low level
  • Too much fiber is bad

Being a good source of many nutrients like vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, phytonutrients, etc. Onions provide a number of health and beauty benefits. However, it should be noted that in addition to the health benefits, there are also some side effects of eating onions in excessive quantity.

WHY YOU SHOULD EAT ONION EVERY DAY

Evidence suggests that you get the greatest health benefit from onions if you eat them raw. But you can still see positive results from eating them cooked. Onion powder is another option that delivers the benefit of raw onion, but in smaller amounts. There are tons of ways to get onion into your diet, and just as many reasons why you really should.

1. Lower cancer risk

Onions contain certain organosulfur compounds that give them their distinctive smell, but also work to detoxify the carcinogens that we consume every day. That translates to a lower lifetime risk of cancer. Research suggests that the more onions you eat, the greater the protection.

Combining onions with turmeric has a synergistic effect. Garlic offers similar protection too. You can add these other ingredients to extend the benefits.

2. Lower diabetes risk

Onions are also lowering your risk of developing type 2 diabetes. This form of diabetes occurs when insulin become ineffective at processing glucose. It typically happens due to a diet chronically high in sugar.

When you eat onion, it increases the amount of available insulin in your system. The allyl propyl disulphide in onions take up some of the spots in the liver where insulin become inactivated, thereby leaving more insulin in the bloodstream to process glucose.

3. Better cardiovascular health

Onions are high in an antioxidant named quercetin, which like all antioxidants, benefits health by neutralizing free radicals that otherwise cause cellular damage. Quercetin keeps arteries soft and elastic.

It also regulates blood pressure and lowers the level of LDL cholesterol in people at risk for cardiovascular disorders. Therefore, eating some onion every day supports cardiovascular health and minimizes the risk of heart disease.

4. Enhanced immune function

Quercetin in onions does more than support heart health. It works in conjunction with selenium to strengthen the immune system. Together they have been found to reduce inflammation throughout the body.

This power combo also seems to moderate immune function, stimulating a response and then scaling it back as necessary. Overactive immune function can actually cause a host of problems, not the least of which is the chronic inflammatory disease of arthritis.

5. Allergy relief

Next time you’re suffering with allergies, try eating some onion. Quercetin blocks allergy-causing and inflammatory compounds and can therefore provide a significant reduction in symptoms.

6. Lesser food poisoning risk

Onions contain antibacterial compounds that slow bacterial growth. Not only are they safe to cut and store for up to 7 days, eating onion with any meal makes you less likely to get sick from other ingredients.

7. Reduced blood clots risk

Clotting is an important function for blood because it seals injuries and prevents excessive blood loss. However, when a clot forms within an artery or vein, it can be deadly. Technically called thrombus, a blood clot in the wrong place can block critical blood flow and starve other parts of the body of the oxygen and nutrients they need. A thrombus may also migrate to the heart or lungs and cause death.

Onions contain rutin that can prevent the formation of these dangerous clots. Interestingly, clots that form in an artery are rich in platelets, but clots found in veins are high in fibrin. Rutin has actually been found to dissolve both kinds.

8. Improved sleep and mood

There are a lot of chemical processes involved in sleep. Serotonin, dopamine and norepinephrine work together to stabilize mood, regulate appetite and promote healthy slumber. But certain chemicals can hinder your ability to sleep soundly, such as homocysteine, an amino acid produced as the body breaks down proteins.

Too much homocysteine hinders the production of serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine. Onions contain a good amount of folate, which can stop homocysteine from building up in the system.

BENEFITS OF CONSUMING CINNAMON REGULARLY

1. Cinnamon can help to stabilize blood sugar, a good option for individuals with type 2 diabetes. In fact, several studies found that cinnamon intake lowers fasting blood glucose.

2. Cinnamon has all important antioxidants to neutralize free radicals. It even beat out superfoods like garlic and oregano in a study conducted at the The University of Hong Kong.

3. Cinnamon has been found to have anti inflammatory properties that help prevent diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, tuberculosis, periodontitis, ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease and sinusitis.

4. Cinnamaldehyde, one of cinnamon's primary active components, may help fight various kinds of infection. Cinnamon oil, specifically, has been shown to positively treat respiratory tract infections caused by fungi, and can also slow or entirely stop the growth of certain bacterium, like Listeria and Salmonella.

FOODS FOR STRONG & HEALTHY HAIR

Hair loss can be shocking for men and menopausal women.

So here is a list of foods that are good for strong & healthy hair:
1. Spinach
2. Oysters
3. Carrots
4. Sweet Potatoes
5. Eggs
6. Milk
7. Yogurt
8. Cheese
9. Oats
10. Walnuts
11. Lentils

Last but not least, foods rich in vitamin C are also important, because vitamin C supports the absorption of iron in our body.

THE ESSENCE OF LIFE

Love and time is the essence of life.
Where love is missing, there is no life. When our lifetime is over, our life ends.

We often hear God is love and scripture teaches us that God is the progenitor of time: “I am the Alpha and the Omega who is, and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” (Revelations 1:8).

The essence of love is unconditional. Time is hard to definethe nature of time is perhaps the greatest mystery. Time opens up life and takes everything away but
according to quantum physics, it doesn’t even exist.
